Georgia Youth Open Pairs State Championship 2009
Aashna Choudhary and Brian Cai of Alpharetta Win State Championship!
[12/21/09] Congratulations to Aashna and Brian who swept the field with a 71.6% game to win the Georgia Youth Open Pairs State Championship. Unit 114 president Tom Wight was on hand to congratulate the pair on their fantastic win and award them the trophy which will have their name added to it as the third annual winners. Second were Hunter Smith and Asish Shah also from Alpharetta, followed in third by Richard Jeng and Andrew Jeng of Johns Creek.
In the Cardrook pairs we had another big game with Isaac Wexel of Lilburn and Hannah Kedzierski of Marietta putting up a 73.6% game finishing a full 5% ahead of the field. Second were Tomer Bromberg and Richard Jan of Alpharetta and third Phoebe Wexel of Lilburn and Daniel Shen of Duluth.
The game was followed by a party, courtesy of Unit 114 and the Duplicate Bridge Association of Atlanta. The pizza and hot dog party followed by cake was to honor the young players who made Life Master in the past year. They were Sean Gannon, Andrew Jeng and Richard Jeng (who is also ACBL's youngest Life Master).
A huge thanks to the Unit and the DBAA for their recognition of our young players and giving them the opportunity to celebrate with the rest of their friends.
